Can Theater Convey the Experience of War? - From 80 Years of Post-War Japanese Theater -

The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. This exhibition introduces materials such as performance posters, script manuscripts, stage design models, and performance videos, along with explanations of the contents of theatrical works, to unravel how the experience of World War II has been conveyed and represented in Japanese theatrical works. It is hoped that this exhibition will serve as a starting point for considering the universal question, 'What can art do in the face of the horrific reality of war?'
