Shōonji Kannon's Virtue Day 99,000 Days Festival
Once a year, Kannon's Virtue Day
August 9th, the day of Kannon's virtues. An event held at the Kannon Hall of Shōonji, a registered tangible cultural property in Ojiya City. Visiting on this day grants you the equivalent benefits of worshiping for 99,000 days. Kitchen cars will be present, along with children's festivals, and in the main hall, there will be experiences and concerts featuring the sound of the 二胡 (erhu). In front of the Kannon Hall, a mini concert by professional pianist Nitomai Ko will take place, and at night, there will be a fire performance by 'Higekiya' in the bamboo grove, allowing you to enjoy a unique festival atmosphere.
