Autumn Grand Festival: Ritual Offering of Cooking (Formerly the Kiminamesai)

Bringing you the court events of the Heian period!
Takae Shrine is the only shrine in Japan dedicated to the god of cooking. The ritual offering of cooking is a solemn ceremony that follows ancient traditions where a person dressed in a formal hat and traditional garments uses only a knife and cooking chopsticks to prepare fish such as carp without touching it with their hands.
