Seminar on the Discovery of Great Figures from Okayama

During the Nara period, Yoshimitsu Kibi (associated with Kurashiki City and Yakage Town) traveled to Tang and acquired knowledge in astronomy, later becoming a superstar active in the political center upon his return. Meanwhile, Abe no Seimei, a famous onmyōji from the Heian period (associated with Asakuchi City and Yakage Town), is said to have established a residence for astronomical observation, and many anecdotes remain in the southwestern part of the prefecture. Two special guest speakers will be invited to talk about the allure of these two great figures who have left their names in history. The target audience is elementary school students and above, and prior application is required.
