2025 Numata Hongō Summer Festival

A historic memorial summer festival
The festival originated from the event where a nun built a Jizō statue to commemorate people who died due to famine and epidemics during the Tenpō era of the Edo period. Since then, it has been cherished and passed down by the local people and is held grandly. Attendees can enjoy performances by brass bands and dances on the main stage, Yassa dances and armored processions in the shopping district, children's mikoshi, mikoshi drums, and food bazaars. This year, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mihara City's city system establishment, a commemorative fireworks display will add a splendid touch to the festival's finale.
