[Sakura Viewing] Katsuragi Park

This was once the site of the Odate Castle, the residence of the Satake clan. Although the building was lost during the Boshin War, a part of the moat remains as a reminder of the past. In spring, about 140 Somei Yoshino cherry trees planted in the park bloom splendidly, attracting many hanami visitors. Adjacent to the Odate City Hall, it serves as the main venue for the 'Odate Cherry Blossom Festival' held every spring.
