Tanozō Senji Great Prajnaparamita Sutra

Recitation of the 600 volumes of the oldest literary material in Mori Town, the Great Prajnaparamita Sutra
This is a transcription of the 600 volumes of the Great Prajnaparamita Sutra written at the Tano "Tenno Shrine" in Mikura Village between 1384 and 1387 (4th year of Eitoku to 1st year of Kakei), and it is the oldest literary material remaining in Mori Town (designated as a cultural asset in Shizuoka Prefecture). At that time, the Kamakura Shogunate had fallen, and it was the era of the Southern and Northern Dynasties' turmoil. The Great Prajnaparamita Sutra was included in temple and shrine annual events for prayers for disaster removal, world peace, and national stability. Currently, the sutra is recited for prayer to ward off epidemics on January 15 and August 1.
