Mishima Taisha【Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom】

The approach and the area around the sacred pond are adorned with cherry blossoms.
Mishima Taisha is famous as the number one shrine in Izu, where Minamoto no Yoritomo prayed for victory when raising an army and won the first battle. The shrine grounds are home to precious buildings and historical sites, including a natural monument, the fragrant olive (age 1,200 years), and the important cultural property of the main hall built entirely of zerocarved keyaki wood. In spring, the Someiyoshino and Mishima cherry blossoms along the approach, as well as the weeping cherry blossoms around the sacred pond, bloom and welcome worshippers in spring attire. A light-up event will be held during the blooming period, so be sure to enjoy the beautiful night cherry blossoms illuminated by lights.
