The Ezo Yamazakura heralds spring
Located 3 kilometers southeast of the city center, this area features hilly terrain with lush natural forests of elm, ash, and oaks, along with approximately 500 Ezo Yamazakura cherry trees and the clear flow of the Chubetsu River to the north, creating a tranquil natural landscape. Most of the park consists of natural woodlands home to numerous small animals and birds, with a rich variety of plant species, making it a beloved site for recreation and lifelong learning among the citizens.

About 7 minutes by bus on route 82 from JR Asahikawa Station, get off at Kamikawa Shrine and walk for about 10 minutes.
