61st Kori-ama Uneme Festival

Kori-ama's summer tradition 'Uneme Festival'
The largest festival in Kori-ama, inspired by the legend of Uneme (a court lady) from the Nara period. The streets decorated with Uneme lanterns, the sound of the 'Uneme Daiko' drums which are about 10 feet in size, and the dazzling dance procession performed by citizens dressed in elaborate costumes are truly impressive. Fun events such as the 'Chibikko Uneme Festival' and 'Yukata de Uneme Contest' will be held.
