Shimanohakusen Nikkankanon Grand Festival
Auspicious Day of the Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva
On August 10th, it is the auspicious day of the Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva at Daishoin. Because it is an auspicious day, the “Shimanohakusen Nikkankanon Grand Festival” is held every year on August 10th. Visiting the temple on this day grants you the merit of 48,000 days. Many people including worshippers from outside the island, local Miyajima residents, and tourists from both domestic and international locations come to visit the temple and pay their respects.
