In Okinawa, I encountered a sacred place called Utaki, where wind burial was practiced. It was a place where life and death intertwined. Now, the government is exercising its power of substitutional execution, desecrating the land where those who lost their lives in the Okinawa War rest, mourning them. While saying that every life is precious, they are not able to treat them as such. If we can respect life and death, it may lead to blessings beyond human comprehension. I hope to be able to depict what I have received in Okinawa.
