Shoubuyu Matsuri (Yamashiro Onsen)
A bath in shoubuyu to pray for a year of good health
The grand 'Nyuyoshiki (Shoubu Mikoshi)' held on the 4th is the main event of this festival, where men carry or pull the mikoshi, parading through the streets, and throwing it into the old souyu, praying for good health. On the 5th, the lively 'Yamashiro Ondo Nagi Dance' takes place. Led by the float, participants dance the Yamashiro Ondo, adding color to the festival finale. Besides the souyu and old souyu, shoubuyu is also available at various ryokans.
