34th Takehara Bamboo Festival

A festival themed around bamboo, the city tree of Takehara
A preservation district that conveys the townscape of the Edo period, featuring a festival themed around bamboo, which is the city tree of Takehara. Each year, local sake is served by Kaguya-hime as a cancer-prevention bamboo sake, along with parades (performances of Gagaku and Kaguya-hime parade). This year, performances are scheduled to be held at the main seat by Ami Myojin on the electone, Junji Kajikawa on the shinobue flute, Miku Sawame on the shamisen, and folk singer Mitsuna Koyama performing folk songs.
