Yorii Tamayodo Suiten-gu Fireworks Festival

The 'Yorii Tamayodo Suiten-gu Festival' features a stunning display of fireworks and the competition of floating carts that beautifully color the night sky and the river's surface. Starting as a rite of worship for water deities that have existed since ancient times, the fireworks festival, held as a part of the Yorii Tamayodo Suiten-gu Festival, is set against the backdrop of the historic Hachigata Castle ruins, designated as a national historic site and listed among Japan's 100 famous castles, where approximately 5,000 fireworks are launched. The grand fireworks and the reflective display of floating carts on the river's surface have earned it the title of 'The Best Water Festival in Kanto' and it is highly popular.
