THE Katsuben ~Cinema Live~

100 years ago, 'films of laughter, surprise, and emotion'
"Katsuben" is a unique film culture that developed in Japan during the silent film era. In front of a large screen, people used to laugh, cry, feel tension, excitement, and deep emotion, experiencing the wonderful landscape of early cinema that was once taken for granted. Now, in the digital age, we can enjoy this through the unique narration of the benshi and the live performances of musicians, allowing us to touch upon the creativity and artistry of historical filmmakers and enjoy the entertainment value of learning from the past. ■ Notes Benshi: Akiko Sasaki and musician: Masayo Nagata have been collaborating for over 20 years. Let's fully enjoy the charm of silent films.
