Towada City Summer Festival Fireworks Festival

Held every year on August 14, this fireworks festival has become a summer tradition. The Kanchogai-dori in Towada City, chosen as one of Japan's 100 Selected Roads, becomes a pedestrian paradise, with stalls set up on the sidewalks. Enjoying local gourmet food and the night view of the 'City of Art', you can watch about 2500 fireworks launched from the nearby Chuo Park green space and athletic stadium. The event will be live-streamed online, so even if you cannot go to the venue, you can enjoy the powerful fireworks display from home. ■Notes Traffic regulations will be enforced around the launch site from 17:30, and some areas will be closed to entry from 18:00.
