Shimonoseki City Tōgyō Memorial Hall Permanent Exhibition - The Areas Related to Shinsaku: Shimonoseki and Kitakyushu

Shinsaku Tōgō, who navigated the tumultuous Bakumatsu period. Historical sites related to Shinsaku are scattered throughout Shimonoseki and Kitakyushu. In Shimonoseki, there are places such as the site of the Kiheitai formation and the Kōzan-ji temple where Shinsaku and others rallied, while in Kitakyushu, there are battle sites from the Boshin War, including Tanoura, Mojiko, Osaki, and Akasaka. This exhibition traces Shinsaku's achievements in the strait and introduces historical sites associated with him in an easy-to-understand manner for children.
