Yasaka Shrine Ta-ta Kagura (November)

Kagura passed down in Yasaka
A kagura that has been performed since the Edo period, learned and passed down from Kanda Myojin (Kanda Shrine) in Edo. Every year, it is held at the Kagura Hall during the Spring Festival (last Sunday in February) and Autumn Festival (November 23). Kagura was once dedicated to pray for protection against various natural disasters, man-made disasters, and epidemics, as well as to pray for the abundance of agricultural products and the improvement of production, and to hope for a peaceful society. On March 22, 1968, it was designated as an important intangible cultural property of Utsunomiya City and continues to this day.
