Special Exhibition "Memories of the Earth: The Forests That Remain ‘There’"

Introduction of buried forests in Miyagi Prefecture, Toyama Prefecture, and Shimane Prefecture
Chitei no Mori Museum (Sendai City Timizawa Ruins Preservation Hall) Exhibition Room
9/5(Fri)~11/16(Sun) 09:00~16:45
Eruptions, floods, and climate change can sometimes preserve ancient trees in their original state. Such trees that have been fortuitously discovered are called "buried forests." This special exhibition introduces three museums where you can experience the "buried forests": the "Uozu Buried Forest Museum (Toyama Prefecture)," the "Sanbe Jomon Forest Museum (Shimane Prefecture)," and the Chitei no Mori Museum, highlighting the characteristics of each museum and the landscapes of their respective regions.
