Souka Ueda was born in 1563 in Owari Province during the Eiroku era. He was a military commander and tea master in the Momoyama period, as well as a potter and a garden designer. He laid the foundation for the Ueda Souka school of samurai tea ceremony that continues in Hiroshima to this day. While being particular about the first strike as a samurai's wish, he was active in both the tea ceremony and garden-making world. He lived a fascinating life until the age of 88 in 1650, and especially with the cooperation of the Ueda Souka School of Japanese style, we introduce the world of Souka with related tea utensils.
