The cherry blossoms at Shuntani Temple in Mukakayumi, Iinan-cho, are ancient trees estimated to be 400 years old. They are carefully preserved by the local preservation society and bloom with charming, beautiful flowers. Under the cherry blossom trees, there are handmade benches by local residents, creating a relaxing place for people to sit back and enjoy their packed lunches while viewing the flowers. During the cherry blossom season, the Edohigan cherries in the temple grounds are illuminated, creating an even more fantastical atmosphere.
