27th Regular Concert of the Nishi Ward Philharmonic Orchestra

Formed in 1998 by music director Toru Mizusaki and volunteers living in the West Ward of Fukuoka City. Every Saturday, over 70 members gather from beyond the municipal borders with the aim of 'performances that rival professionals.' Conductors are Toru Mizusaki (Chairman of the NPO Kyushu Wind Ensemble, former clarinet player of the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra) and Motohiro Tanabe (violist of the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra). The program includes Falla: Ballet Music 'The Three-Cornered Hat' Suite No. 2, Ravel: Ballet Music 'Daphnis and Chloé', Musorgsky: Suite 'Pictures at an Exhibition'.
