Tobata Gion Oyakasa Festival

A traditional event of Tobata Ward with over 220 years of history
UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, Nationally Designated Important Intangible Cultural Asset "Tobata Gion Oyakasa Festival". During the day, it showcases the Nishikigasa, said to be the original form of the Yamakasa, adorned with embroideries of golden threads and elegant splendor. At night, the decorations are removed, transforming into a pyramid of light decorated with 309 lanterns across 12 tiers. Major events include the "Tobata Gion Bayashi Research Performance Event (Wel Tobata)", "Tobata Gion Oyakasa Festival", and "Tobata Gion Oyakasa Performance Event (around Tobata City Hall and Asao Park No. 1)". ■ Notes Gion※ Correctly, it should be "氏" over "しめすへん"
