A special exhibition introducing the masterpieces of Shiko Munakata, marking the 20th anniversary of the merger of Tsuruoka City and the opening of the Tsuruoka Art Forum, and the 50th anniversary of his passing. Approximately 60 masterpieces and related materials from the Shiko Munakata Memorial Museum, which closed regretfully in March 2024, and the Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art bring to light the unique artistic essence of this singular artist. The exhibition presents the essence of Munakata's art, including "woodblock prints," "Yamato-e," "oil paintings," and "designs," captivating many hearts and gaining popularity.
