Asahi Funagawa 'Spring Quartet'

During the river improvement work in 1957, approximately 280 Somei Yoshino cherry trees were planted by local residents along both banks of the levee covering 1,200m, which have been carefully maintained for many years. "Because I want to meet many people," the early-blooming tulip varieties were chosen to match the cherry blossoms, and canola flowers for rapeseed oil were also planted. Miraculously, with the backdrop of the remaining snow on Mount Asahi, the quartet of cherry blossom avenues, tulips, and canola flowers come together, creating a splendid spring scenery as skylarks sing, truly a paradise on earth. ■Notes Please observe cherry blossom viewing manners; for more details, refer to the website. During the period of full bloom of cherry blossoms, shuttle buses will operate from corporate park parking lots to the cherry blossom avenue.

*Cherry blossom blooming is expected to occur 3 to 5 days after the predicted blooming date in Toyama. Peak blooming period may vary. On April 5 (Saturday), 'Bonfire Night Cherry Blossoms' will be held from 19:00 to 21:00.
