Banryu Festival

Northern Alps Hida Side Opening Mountain Festival
The "Banryu Festival" of the Northern Alps Hida side opening mountain ceremony in the Chubu Mountains National Park is an annual event that heralds the arrival of spring in this snow-covered area. This opening mountain festival enshrines Buddhist statues on Yari and Kasagatake, celebrating the achievements of "Banryu Shonin," who established these mountains, while also praying for safety in the Northern Alps. After the religious ceremony, traditional local performances such as "Chicken Art" and the lion dance "Henbetori" are offered.
