"If you tell lies, you'll have your tongue pulled out by demons in hell!" Have you ever been told something like this as a child? The concept of hell was brought to Japan with the introduction of Buddhism and has had a significant influence on literature and art. In particular, there are artworks that depict terrifying scenes. Alongside this, we will also introduce artworks related to "paradise" that are often discussed in conjunction with hell.
