Takehana Festival

Magnificent floats parade through the town
The Takehana Festival, held every year on May 3, is a festival of Hachikusa Shrine located in Takehana-cho. It features magnificent floats (designated as important tangible folk cultural assets in the prefecture) that parade through the town, originating from the Edo period. There are a total of 13 floats, with half being pulled every other year alternately. The floats are adorned with splendid large curtains and back curtains, showcasing moving puppets and children's hand dances, creating a grand spectacle. It is also artistically remarkable.
