This tournament began in 1987 at Tenjinyama Baseball Stadium as the "All Japan University Women's Softball Championship". It has been affectionately known as 'Madonnas' Koshien', and every August, university women's baseball teams from across the nation gather at "Uozu Momoyama Sports Park Baseball Stadium" and "Uozu City Tenjinyama Baseball Stadium" to compete in intense matches.
