Ukiyo-e, which was born during the Edo period and captivated the hearts of the public. Among them, there are many works based on literature, such as those depicting characters from stories and famous scenes. This exhibition introduces Utagawa Hiroshige's Hōeidō edition of "The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tōkaidō" in all fifty-five prints (including replicas), along with the travel scenes of Yajirobei and Kitahachi from the humorous book "Hizakurige". Additionally, ukiyo-e based on literature by Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Kuniyoshi, as well as works by Takamizawa Publishing, such as Kitagawa Utamaro and Tōshūsai Sharaku, will be displayed.
