Tankororin Evening Coolness

The light of kindness meets you
In the town of Asuke, lanterns made of bamboo and washi paper called 'Tankororin' are lit. Let's take a stroll through the town of Asuke, which has a different atmosphere than usual. The Tankororin lined up during the event are handmade by the townspeople, and they are loved by many as a summer tradition in Asuke. The townscape of Asuke was selected as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings in April 2011. The new light of Asuke, 'Bamboo Light,' also adds color to the townscape.
