The Great Master of Kyoto, Kijima Sakutō: A Life Filled with Paintings (Fukuda Art Museum)

A large-scale retrospective exhibition reflecting on the artistic career of Kijima Sakutō (1877–1938) will be held. In addition to representative works, new acquisitions that have been missing for about 100 years, such as "Arashiyama Clear Stream", will also be introduced. Works from Sakutō's younger days, as well as works exhibited at Bunten, will be displayed alongside works of his master, Imao Keinen, and those of the artists he admired, such as Kikuchi Yōsai, and his acquaintances, Kishi Tai and Kishi Chikudō, thus exploring the origins of Sakutō's art. This will be a valuable opportunity to delve into the charm of Sakutō, which has been gaining re-evaluation in recent years.

Admission fee: General/University Students 1,500 yen, High School Students 900 yen, Elementary and Middle School Students 500 yen (There is a combined ticket with the Sagaarashiyama Bunkakan for 2,300 yen for adults)

Parking spaces are provided for those who can only arrive by car due to difficulties in walking. Reservations in advance are required.

Get off at Arashiyama Station on the Randen Line and walk about 4 minutes / Get off at Arashiyama Station on the Hankyu Line and walk about 11 minutes / Get off at Saga-Arashiyama Station on the JR Sagano Line and walk about 12 minutes
