The Shiga Prefecture qualifying tournament for the national goldfish scooping championship, held annually in August in Nara Prefecture, will take place in Maibara City. The venue is Maibara City Hall, a 1-minute walk from Maibara Station. The competition involves each participant using a scooping net to catch as many goldfish as possible within 3 minutes, with each person allowed 3 attempts, and the highest count determining the result. Prizes will be awarded to winners, and the top 10 will qualify for the national tournament. On the day of the event, attendees can also enjoy goldfish scooping games, quiz stamp rallies, and food stalls such as kitchen cars. ■Notes Tournament entry is accepted until July 21.
