Urasoe City Museum of Art Summer Experience Workshop 'Sparkling Inlay Experience'

Exciting lacquerware making at Urasoe City Museum of Art
We invite Minori Chibana, who has been involved in the restoration of Shurijo Castle, as our instructor to hold a workshop where you can experience making lacquerware. You will carve patterns into the lacquerware and experience the inlay technique using lacquer to embed gold. Let's create a unique original piece of lacquerware that you can use in your daily life! Before the experience, you might learn a bit more about lacquerware in a gallery talk with the director of the Urasoe City Museum of Art. The target audience is 5th grade students and above. Please apply through the application form on the museum's website. The capacity is 10 people per session, and if there are many applicants, a lottery will be conducted.
