Hoichi the Earless Festival

Experience the Heike Legend
A festival honoring the famous Heike legend "Hoichi the Earless" introduced in Lafcadio Hearn's (Koizumi Yakumo) work "Kaidan". Various ceremonies such as a memorial service in front of the "Hoichi Hall" located in the grounds of Akama Shrine and the graves of the Heike clan, "Nanamori Mounds," along with biwa performances are held.
