Hanawa no Ten Festival

Dynamic presentation of Ayatake dance and fan dance
The origin traces back to the time of the priest Chokai, who in the Edo period invited the Three Mountains of Dewa and transmitted this Ten Festival event and the Nembutsu dance. On the day before, under the direction of the chief organizer, the heavenly shelf is assembled. On the morning of the event, the participants purify themselves with water, and the priests, monks, and participants ascend the heavenly shelf to begin the worship. The climax occurs at night with the 'Ten Festival Dance' performed on the stage in front of the heavenly shelf. Young men in headbands and yukatas showcase Ayatake dance and fan dance. Following that, there is a religious ceremony conducted by priests and monks, after which the heavenly shelf is destroyed, marking the end of the festival.
