This year marks the 70th anniversary of the first designation of important intangible cultural property holders (commonly known as Living National Treasures) based on the Cultural Properties Protection Act. This exhibition gathers and showcases works from masters who laid the foundation of modern crafts as Living National Treasures, including the 20th-century icon Rosanjin Kitaōji, who left the phrase, "Utensils are the kimono of cuisine," as well as contemporary artists active in the modern craft world.
