Okage Yokocho Tanabata Festival

The Tanabata festival originated in China over two thousand years ago and is believed to have been introduced to Japan during the Nara period. By the Edo period, writing wishes on strips of paper and decorating bamboo became popular. This tradition continues to be observed in various parts of the country. At Okage Yokocho, traditional Tanabata decorations are displayed outside shops, and the entire town celebrates the Tanabata festival. Cherish the good old Tanabata and why not make a wish on the stars?

Access

Exit at Ise IC on the Ise Expressway and continue straight on Route 23 towards Naikū for about 5 minutes.

Access (Public)

Get off at Kintetsu 'Uji-Yamada' Station and take the Mie Kotsu bus bound for 'Naikū-mae' for about 20 minutes, get off at 'Jingū Kaikan-mae', and walk about 1 minute.
