Aojima, which floats on Koyama Pond, boasting the largest pond in Japan, has a circumference of 1.8 km. The shore and the island are connected by the pedestrian-only Aojima Ohashi Bridge, which allows for a walk across. Within the island, about 500 cherry blossom trees of various kinds are planted, centered around Somei Yoshino, and in spring, Aojima is dyed in beautiful cherry blossom pink.
