The 44th Special Exhibition 'Encounter with Ancient Roof Tiles 7 - Ancient Roof Tiles of the Goryeo Dynasty from the Korean Peninsula -'

Tezukayama University conducts research on the history and culture of Japanese roof tiles that began in Nara, and works to collect ancient roof tiles for use in exhibitions and education. In particular, the number of ancient roof tiles from the Korean Peninsula, which has deep connections with Japan, is considerable, and the university houses about 3,000 of the largest collection in Japan. This exhibition, as the seventh in the 'Encounter with Ancient Roof Tiles' series, showcases selected ancient tiles from the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392) from the university's collection. Come and admire the beauty and craftsmanship of Goryeo's ancient roof tiles, which greatly influenced roof tiles of the Heian period and Okinawa.
