Yasaka Shrine Gion Matsuri

A festival known for the three portable shrines
The Kubo Yasaka Shrine Festivity is counted among the three major summer festivals of Onomichi. One of the shrine's festivals, the "Gion Matsuri," is famous for the "Santai Mawashi," where three portable shrines are paraded. In the past, it was a fierce festival akin to a brawl as participants fought for flags, but now it consists of a time race to see who can circle around the flags the fastest.
