Atsushi Nakajima, who left behind masterpieces such as "Shangetsu-ki," aspired to be a writer while teaching at Yokohama High School for Girls. However, in 1941 he resigned and moved to Palau, which was then under Japanese rule, to work for the South Seas Bureau. During his stay, Nakajima would write letters to his sons, gently describing the events around him and the unique scenery of the South Seas. This exhibition focuses on his relationship with his family during this period, showcasing a total of 81 letters addressed to his children.
