Elegant Somei Yoshino and Enchanting Weeping Cherry Trees
In the vast park located between the Tone River and the Hirose River, about 300 Somei Yoshino cherry trees and 10 weeping cherry trees bloom beautifully. The Somei Yoshino trees are planted around the boating pond in the park, allowing visitors to enjoy cherry blossom viewing while riding on boats. Furthermore, the weeping cherry trees in the park are descendants of the famous cherry tree "Gion Shidarezakura" (also known as: Gion Night Cherry Blossom) in Maruyama Park, Kyoto, and were planted by sakura guardian Mr. Tōemon Sano.
