2025 Moon Viewing Party

The beautiful sounds enchant the participants.
The Moon Viewing Party enjoys the elegant sounds of traditional Japanese Gagaku music and the grand performances of the Totto Kagura. Until 2019, the venue was Gamou Shrine in Hanabata 5-chome, but after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been held at Imaizumi Yasaka Shrine since 2023. At the shrine's Kagura Hall, members of the city-designated intangible cultural heritage "Yasaka Shrine Totto Kagura" perform pieces like the "Dance of the Great Serpent" inspired by the Year of the Dragon. The Yasaka Shrine Gagaku Society also presents four pieces, enchanting participants with the beautiful sounds of the sho and ryuteki among others.
