A part of Mikuri-yama (elevation 89.8m), which is a section of Katsumada Mountain, is a habitat for the Miyama Tsutsuji (scientific name: Kobano Mitsuba Tsutsuji), designated as a natural monument by Shizuoka Prefecture. Miyama Tsutsuji is distributed from Kyushu to the Chubu region, with the Oi River marking the northern limit. Katsumada Mountain is located at the limit of its distribution, self-growing in clusters at elevations between 80m and 90m.
