10,000 hydrangeas of 100 varieties in bloom
Kannonji, said to have been founded in 720, is filled with about 10,000 hydrangeas of 100 varieties in its precincts. It is also known as the "First Temple of Flowers in Kansai" and as the "(Tamba) Hydrangea Temple." Every year from June to July, hydrangeas bloom vibrantly along the approach and small paths for the Seven Kannon Pilgrimage.
