Scenic beauty throughout the four seasons
Heian Jingu was established in Meiji 28 to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the capital's relocation, with Emperor Kammu, the deity of the relocation, as the main shrine. It is widely known as a representative Japanese garden from the Meiji era and is designated as a national scenic spot. Every year, from late March to mid-April, the cherry blossoms bloom beautifully, creating a picturesque spring scene. From 3/29 to 4/9, a cherry blossom viewing tea ceremony will be held. Concerts featuring Shidarezakura will also take place from 4/2 to 4/6, along with cherry blossom illuminations.
