Shinoharu English Rakugo 16 in Yotsuya

It is often said that translating rakugo into English does not convey its essence. "Foreigners do not understand the tenement houses", "Due to different grammar, the punchline might be revealed first", "Knowledge of Japanese culture is necessary", and so on. However, I believe it is more interesting to start from "It might be conveyed" or "I want to convey" rather than from "It cannot be conveyed". I believe that the fundamental humor of human beings, which has remained unchanged since the Edo period, transcends borders.
