Exhibiting Small Larvae of the Large Japanese Giant Salamander!

This exhibition features larvae of the Japanese giant salamander collected in Gero City, Gifu Prefecture. It has been determined that these larvae are hybrid individuals possessing the genes of the Chinese giant salamander, but they are rarely seen. Take this opportunity to closely observe differences in external gills and body color. Hybrid individuals have also been found in some rivers within Gifu Prefecture, which has become a significant issue. Let’s think about this problem through the exhibition.

The opening hours from April 26 (Saturday) to May 6 (Tuesday, holiday) are until 18:00. At other times, open only on weekends and public holidays from 9:30 to 18:00. Entry is allowed until one hour before closing.
